Resin Wall Plaque - "The Lincoln Imp"
Size - 5.25 ins. x 2.5 ins. (13.3 cm x 6.4 cm)
Once, long ago, a mischievous Imp was blown into Lincoln by a ferocious storm, coming to rest, at last, at the grand door of the Cathedral. Exhausted, and seeking shelter he entered- but on seeing the Holy splendour and magnificence all around him his natural instinct for evil doing was awakened.
In a rage he began to break the windows, dance on the altar and trip up the bishop. The Guardian Angels of the Minster saw his mayhem and in an instant turned him into stone, and placed him forever out of harms way high above the Choir, between two arches, where he can still be seen to this day- grinning cheekily.
This casting is designed, sculpted and manufactured in England, using resin-bonded Cotswold stone or Terracotta. Modern moulding techniques faithfully reproduce the intricate and painstaking work of the sculptor whilst giving the appearance of real carved stone or sculpted terracotta.
You can display this impressive plaque either inside or outside the home because the resin is completely weatherproof.
Truly a unique gift and well presented in an attractive, 'leatherette' style, burgundy coloured box.
A hole is provided in the rear for simple hanging.
