This finely engraved brass is unique in that until 1910 it was mounted forty feet up on the outside of the church tower, from where it looked out over the delightful Lincolnshire countryside for over four hundred years.

In the time of King Henry VIII, when the final break with the Church of Rome took place in England, Henry's emissaries travelled the kingdom seeking out and destroying all relics of the famous English Saint. The position of this brass, however, ensured it's safety: as local legend has it, "Henry just did not have a long enough ladder"!

No records exist to indicate who is commemorated by the brass but from the rivet holes - still visible by the tower clock - he was depicted as a small figure kneeling at the feet of, and being blessed by, the Archbishop

£88.13

Height in inches: 17

Width in inches: 10

Weight in kg: 2.1

Anne was the daughter of sir Thomas Bullen of Hever in Kent. Her elder sister, Mary, was Henry VIII's mistress in about 1520, and Anne owed much to her swift rise to favour at Court to her sister.

As lady-in-waiting to Queen Catherine, Anne caught the eye of Henry, who became infatuated by her dark beauty and winning wiles. But she had no intention of becoming just another of his mistresses and this gave impetus to Henry's plans to obtain a divorce from Atherine of Aragon. In his pursuit of a male heir he married Anne in 1533 and she bore him a daughter, Elizabeth (later to become Elizabeth I).

But after she miscarried of a boy child, her failure to produce a male heir and the plotting of her enemies led to her fall from favour and eventual execution on a charge of adultery.

Antique Ivory style resin Palmestry hand wall Plaque and Booklet

The fact that each person’s palm bears a unique pattern of the same recurring lines has lead to the belief that these coincide with the various key influences upon a person’s journey through the world; the Lines of Life, Fate, Heart and so on, with their various coincidences, interruptions and blemishes seem well to mirror life itself. Indeed some would claim that modern scientific analysis has proved that a true relationship does exist between the Hand and Time. It is possible.

The notes here are based on numerous writings influenced by the teachings of Count Louis Hamon, known as Chiero, who gathered the various philosophies together and codified them into a coherent whole.’ See also the intro page in the booklet for context information. The hand was a life casting from David's four year old daughter!

This casting is designed, sculpted and manufactured in England. Modern moulding techniques faithfully reproduce the intricate and painstaking work of the sculptor whilst giving the appearance of ivory.

You can hang this impressive plaque either inside or outside the home because the resin is completely weatherproof.

Truly a unique and unusual Gift Idea, well presented in an attractive, 'leatherette' style, burgundy coloured box.

Should you wish to display the piece, a hole is provided in the rear for simple hanging.

Resin Wall Plaque - "Solar" (From the Tarot card pack)

Size - 5 ins. x 5 ins. (12.7 cm x 12.7 cm)

Card 19 of the Major Arcana of the Tarot shows the beneficent Sun shining upon two lovers as they meet. ‘Journey’s end in Lover’s meeting’: when all obstacles have been overcome the man (the Spirit) and woman (the Body ) can unite and progress towards a discovery of the true Self -represented, naturally enough as the fruit of this union: a child on card 20 (‘The Last Judgement’). In divination this card represents Happiness, Salvation, Marriage.

The unrecorded early history of the Tarot is obscurity itself and normally talked of with a considerable helping of waffle : possibly it originated in the Ancient Egyptian Mystery schools from whence the word ‘Tarot’ derives (‘Tar’: path, ‘Ro’: Royal - or alternatively the Egyptian Taruth: ‘the One who is consulted’, the Hebrew Torah: ‘the Law’ or the Zend Tarisk: ‘I demand the answer’).

Forms of Divinatory cards are also found in India and China - and the transmission and combination of various schools possibly followed ancient trade routes and the migration of the Gypsies, with whom the Tarot latterly became strongly associated. The early combinations of the various pictographic cards varied widely in early versions but by the mid 14th. century had settled into 22 Cards of the ‘Major Arcana’ (the pictographic mystery cards) and 56 Cards of the Minor Arcana (the origin of modern Playing cards, the suits here being Swords, Wands, Cups and Coins).

Tarot Card divination is not to be trusted - we recommend Palmistry as a more accurate way of deciding the future course of your life (see The Palmistry Hand Kit). The Sun or ‘Solar’ face here is based on a woodcut of the ealy 18th. century.

This magnificent casting is designed, sculpted and manufactured in England, using resin-bonded marble, bronze and Cotswold stone. Modern moulding techniques faithfully reproduce the intricate and painstaking work of the sculptor whilst giving the appearance of real carved stone or sculpted terracotta.

You can display this impressive plaque either inside or outside the home because the resin is completely weatherproof.

A Truly a unique Gift Idea, well presented in an attractive, 'leatherette' style, burgundy colourde box.

A hole indent is provided in the rear for simple hanging.
